Che
Che has a background of 20 years in business management with a company that encouraged her to develop a full range of skills required to succeed in a fast-paced industry. When the timing was right, she went on to complete the double-major program at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. With these combined passages and the loving support of her family, she had the confidence to move on and build her own business in a field of healthcare that inspires her daily. Roots & Branches is more then her passion project. It is a space for healing others but also a space that she feels very much at ease in. Being a part of a person's wellbeing is a privilege and having it in a space that is warm and comforting, makes it much more then a place to work. It is where she wants to be and loves to nurture.
Alina
Alina is a registered Acupuncturist and Medical Herbalist with a reverence for the wisdom of nature and a passion for supporting those in suffering. Her journey to integrative medicine began with a 2-year education in Nursing at the University of Calgary, which afforded her rewarding clinical placements but left her with many unanswered questions about the “nature” of health and wellbeing. Over the next several years she travelled, in search of the answers to these questions, eventually finding her way to Pacific Rim College. She attained two diplomas in Phytotherapy and Acupuncture and graduated both programs with the highest distinction, completing over one thousand hours of clinical practice. For the past two years, Alina has been working closely with her mentors in Herbal Medicine as well as maintaining her own clinical practice in the Cowichan Valley. She is honoured to be joining Roots and Branches and begin offering Acupuncture and related therapies to the community of Comox Valley. She enjoys working with a variety of conditions and is inspired by the challenges and opportunities for therapeutic connection that each new patient brings.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
“This medicine does not focus on the disease alone; in practice we examine the individual as a whole and diagnose the pattern(s) which helps us to facilitate the restoration of the bodies natural processes by means of Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping,,,.”
“Life is never in complete balance. Homeostasis is only a relatively stable equilibrium and this dynamic state is an excellent example of the imperfect balance between Yin & Yang energies. Without this harmony, chaotic conditions manifest within and around us. Traditional Chinese Medicine uses these concepts to manage various illnesses, avoid disease and support longevity.”
“Exploring the relationship between ourselves and nature is important when trying to understand our physiology and our pathologies. We are essentially a microcosm to that of nature. This treasured connection is fundamental in the health and well-being of ourselves and to the health and well-being of our planet.”
