Alleviate Pain and Restore Healthy Blood Flow with Cupping
Cupping is an ancient Chinese treatment used to rejuvenate by stimulating Qi. The practice alleviates pain and improves blood flow to treated areas, encouraging healing and removing toxins that get trapped within soft tissues and blocks the flow of Qi in the body.
Cupping Therapy at Roots and Branches
In this ancient form of traditional medicine, trained therapists place cups on the skin to create suction. The suctioning power pulls the skin up, which stimulates blood flow to the area, relaxes the muscles and soft tissue, and releases toxins. At Roots and Branches, I offer three types of cupping therapy:
- Traditional fire cupping: A small controlled flame is used to induce suction inside a glass cup before being placed on the skin. The cups may be left in place or moved by sliding or reflashing for the duration of the treatment.
- Silicone slide cupping: Pliable silicone cups are used. The practitioner moves the cups around, creating similar sensations felt during massage but the skin is being lifted rather then pressed.
- Facial cupping: This is a gentle form of silicone cupping. The cups are smaller than the ones used on the body.
Cupping benefits include deep relaxation, pain reduction, increased collagen production, improved immune system response, improved circulation and reduced inflammation.
